Underwater Landscapes: from geographical to ecological perspectives, Olivier Musard et al. 2014.

The chapters in this book are based on presentations at a multidisciplinary conference in Brest (29-31 March 2011) held in French.  The contributors are all based in France or Belgium and thus this book provides an interesting non-UK view, not just on landscape, but the idea of 'underwater landscape'. The inspiration for this is the European Landscape Convention which identifies water and marine landscapes as 'landscape'.

All sorts of useful ideas and bits of information are embedded within this book including what seems particularly appropriate for a French conference: 'Underwater Landscapes in Comic Books' (Chapter 8) by Laurence Le  Du-Blayo. I particularly liked the chapters that considered whether land-based landscape techniques and concepts can be used in thinking about underwater landscapes, but there are also chapters based on natural-science methods, modelling, photography etc.
